Overview

We are looking for General Labourers to support our team and operations is integral to the success of our production lines and will involve multiple tasks that range from providing packaging support on any production line through the packing, pallet stocking, and movement of raw materials to supply production lines and the movement and labeling of finished product away from the production lines.

General duties relating to production support will include grinding of scrap, movement and participation in the control and disposal of recycled materials and general waste and preparation of silicone solutions, filter cleaning, storing and organizing raw materials, finished goods, tooling, parts, and supplies.

Shifts

  • Rotating 12 hour Continental schedule (3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next week).
  • Alternate between 7:00 am – 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 7:00 am every two weeks
  • Overtime after 40 hours

Environment

  • Manufacturing environment that requires proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times in production areas.
  • Hot and humid due to equipment and processes
  • Noise levels are high due to machinery in operation.

Details

  • Collect, sort, bail/compact as required, weigh and store all saleable scrap material.
  • Correctly records on the recycling shipment chart the type and weights of all recyclable plastic materials.
  • Collect all scrap wood and corrugate. Bail, weigh, document and ship bailed scrap corrugate.
  • Unload raw materials (i.e.: colours, resins, noryl, etc.) and store in designated area.
  • Use computer to create barcode labels to accurately identify raw materials.
  • Maintain tight control of all materials being used and keep all forms of waste to a minimum.
  • Pick up general waste daily (do not allow garbage to build up).
  • Clean and cover all garbage cans.
  • Clean the Lunchroom and Washrooms and stock with sanitary supplies.
  • Keep all interior and exterior stairs and walkways clean and safe.
  • Ensure snow removal and salting is kept up when necessary.
  • Garbage collections outdoors and seasonal yard and external property cleanup.
  • Grind plastic scrap from process Lines, plant and warehouse, as required.
  • Move regrinds to its designated area and labels them.
  • May assist with cleaning grinder for material/colour change with air (no mechanical).
  • Drive Forklift to maneuver regrind, scrap and colour gaylords.
  • Drive Scissor lift for general clean up, such as process lines, overhead pipes, etc.
  • Fill in as Packer/Box taper when required.
  • General maintenance such as painting, bulb change, clean up, grounds maintenance etc.
  • Other miscellaneous jobs as required.

What we’re looking for

  • A Great Attitude!
  • Willing to wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment is an asset.
  • Ability to understand English written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to lift 15-18 kgs (35-40 lbs) on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must possess skills required to be licensed for and safety operate Forklift , Scissor Lift, Reach truck and Clamp Truck.
  • Ability to fill out labels, basic reports, and checklists.
  • Willing to work on ladders and raised platforms.
  • Willing to work in areas of extreme heat and humidity.
  • Required to work in areas with high noise levels and dust.
  • Safe and proper use of tools required.
  • Able to work 8 or 12 hour shifts (days, afternoon, and overnight).
  • Able to work different work schedules as required as work assignments will change and opportunity to complete work may require a shift change.
