Overview

The General Accountant joins a small yet mighty Accounting team to assist with accounting, finance and procedural work. This includes accurate and timely reporting of financial information, cost accounting (real, nominal) as well as cash and bank reconciliations, month-end closing and payroll reports review.

Details

The General Accountant works closely with our Controller, AR, AP and cross-functionally with other departments, including Production, Operations, Supply chain, Purchasing teams.

  • Cash and Bank Reconciliations – Currencies updates – Cash Position.
  • Cheque deposits and slips maintenance and correspondence.
  • Leases and loans reconciliations.
  • Payroll reports review, analysis and JVs.
  • EFTs and Bank Info updates. 
  • Cost Standards and OHs Re-allocations.
  • Inventory Cycle counts and related aspects.
  • Related parties billing and reconciliations.
  • Monthly Prophix Reporting.
  • Month End Revaluations, Recurring Entries, Reviews and Accruals.
  • Assist in Month End Reviews and Adjustments.
  • Annual Audit related issues.
  • General Journal entries and adjusting entries.

What we’re looking for

  • A Great Attitude!
  • Minimum 3 to 5+ years of experience in a related Accounting position. 
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CMA designation (or in progress).
  • Team-player with hands-on approach to accomplishing tasks. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities. 
  • Solid computer proficiency: MS Office, Advanced Excel, manufacturing ERP solution. 
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to a growing organization.

Assets 

  • Experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Familiar with Macola manufacturing ERP
  • Experience developing budgets and managing capital costs
