Overview

The Production Scheduler is an integral role at Amhil in our Scheduling and Supply Chain team, playing an active part in production scheduling with a holistic view and understanding our total Supply Chain process.

Communicating with our Customer Service team to understand the complexity of the orders coming in and working with the production team to ensure completion in a timely manner

Details

The Production Scheduler works cross-functionally with all production-related and Customer Service teams, to maintain and execute detailed production schedules to maintain plant efficiency while delivering customer requirements and inventory targets; Ultimately ensuring that our Production teams meet their targets, and the satisfaction of our customers’ “Best Value”.

  • Update and maintain production schedules in a variety of key systems (ERP, Manufacturing,
  • Planning/scheduling etc.) on a daily basis.
  • Communicate schedules (daily, weekly) to the Production team and maintain production flow.
  • Analyze production demand for each product category from high level to detailed level.
  • Coordinate and resolve Scheduling or Packaging related issues with Supervisors and changeover Leads.
  • Optimize production schedule by considering potential constraints (tooling, machinery, staffing).
  • Provide order status and completion timeline to the Customer Service team, alerting them to potential delays, priority options etc.
  • Collaborate with all departments, including Production, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service and Sales.
  • Weekly meetings with customer service & sales to review and resolve supply issues.
  • Ensure packaging availability to support scheduled production.
  • Act as a back up to Supply Chain (Purchaser).

What we’re looking for

  • A Great Attitude!
  • Post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in manufacturing Production Scheduling or Logistics.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding role.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written).
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Strong people skills and ability to impact and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and stay on top of competing priorities
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.), ERP and MMS systems.

Assets

  • Experience in extrusion or thermoform manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with Opcenter APS (formerly known as “Preactor APS) Advanced Planning and Scheduling software strongly preferred.
